Overall the tour was exceptional! All the tour locations were enjoyable, especially the optional excursion to Cinque Terre! Our guide for the entire tour, Alessandro Bindi, was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of useful information before and after the tour.

Great itinerary and guide. Hotel was clean, but remote and had zero amenities . Despite this, the itinerary and guide overcame the disappointment in Colette’s choice of hotel. There was no restaurant, bar or even a place to get a cup of coffee or a drink! Pouring rain at night and no taxi service and hotel staff unable to provide food takeout info.

It was so well organized,just perfect. When we landed in Rome there was someone there to move us along. There was a tour guide there that day to tell us where we would be going every day. Extremely organized from all directions..When we needed a break, she found a restaurant to take us to. just wonderful..

Pro's -Great pre-planning and information -great transportation to and from airport -hotel was comfortable, safe, clean with hot showers and plentiful breakfasts that were provided/included in price -town was pretty and walkable -Tour guide was fantastic, individual guides in Florence, Sienna, Pisa ect were good -Bus driver was excellent at navigating narrow streets and villages -most of the activities like "cooking class" visit to American Cemetary were fun and informative -welcome and espically last night dinner were great Cons -the (unguided) run to change planes in Frankfort 1 person left behind, several sprinting to make plane -the 4 hour wait in Munich -hotel room was small/tight, maintaince needed on doors and windows -amount of downtime in Florence and Seinna was minimal-would have liked more

Just about everything! Can’t pick a favorite but loved the cooking lesson in Tuscany! Our guide Fernando was fabulous! His passion, caring and enthusiasm were beyond! We had group pictures, group laughs, group awe, saw just about every site in that region. Accommodations and transit were spot on! I felt really spoiled in the way we were treated by everyone involved. Saw the region as it should be respected as one of the most beautiful countries to visit! My memories will last forever

Tuscany is beautiful! The food and the culture are incredible. The only thing I would change is I would allow more free time. Also, the hotel was beautiful and comfortable but the rooms were too hot. Our tour guide is great! Give Alessandro a raise! Super knowledgeable, and extremely entertaining. I strongly recommend Alessandro Pucar!

Although the trip was packed with multiple stops and excursions, I felt a few less and more in depth stops would have been more educational. The add on trip to Bologna was interesting, but not much of in depth information. A lot of free time that could have been used in a better educational format. In comparison to the trip through Tuscany, it was over priced.

The hotel we stayed is close to everything. The only thing I would love to suggest is they have to change the key holder. It is too heavy to carry and is not convenient.

I’ve already been through this one so now they’re getting even a lower rating. I don’t like big group tours. I never wanted to be one of those people that had to find the person with the damn flag. We had to get on a damn bus every morning to drive one to two hours not what I like to do.

The itinerary was excellent - towns visited and local guides, Perhaps change the days you visit different towns (for example, would not go to Florence on a Saturday). But reason for the 5 stars is Tour leader, Maximillian Vanci and Coach Driver, Ciro were fantastic. Both so professional, knowledgeable and fun! Would go on another trip with Max!

It was nice to stay in one hotel and not have to pack to stay at other locations. Since our visits to small towns were in depth and well narrated by local guides, our visit to Florence felt like it didn't belong on this trip. Big city, lots of people and waiting lines, and tho I visited the Ponte Vecchio bridge 40+ years ago, I was dismayed that we just looked at it from across the river, but didn't get to visit. If people want to see David, let that be on a different trip. Your Tuscany trip shouldn't include it.

The rolling hills, the delicious food, the best bus driver, the amazing local guides, and the very best Tour Manager Dario, who went above and beyond for the entire tour., he is friendly, accessible, engaging and just an all around great source of knowledge about local culture. We stayed at an amazing hotel, and I had a terrace overlooking the golden Tuscan sunset. Thank you for this experience. It was perfect from start to finish.

Eleanora, tour guide, treated us all like family. Kind and so considerate.Hotel in Montecatini-Terme was exquisite and the town a perfect place to come ‘home’ to. When we had flight problems, I called emergency number, and Collette was there for us at airport in Florence to get us to hotel. Cooking school at agriturismo was the highlight. Thank you all.

Our tour manager, Ellenora exceeded all our expectations. She is a great communicator and has more energy than the Energizer Bunny. However, the curriculum of the tour put too much emphasis on the history of the places we visited at the expense of helping us learn about modern day Tuscany. I'd like to know more about the economy of the area, how it is governed, and how education and healthcare are organized

Collette and our tour director made sure every detail was accounted for. The itinerary flowed smoothly throughout the week. I enjoyed every city, town and activity they included in our tour. I loved that we stayed in the same hotel every evening and branched out each day from that location. Not having to move around and live out of a suitcase made it feel like a true vacation! 5 stars all the way!

The tour was exceptional in it's choice of sites to visit and explore a little. the tour manager was also exceptional in friendliness, knowledge in "all things Italian". He had the necessary tickets and passes, so that our experience at each town was seamless without concern of missing a bus or train. Each local guide was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic that I felt I appreciated the history and uniqueness of each town more. This was certainly a memorable trip in the very best way.

I live in Sacramento and my flights were out of San Francisco. There was a flight out of Atlanta to Sacramento. At least 25 hours of travel time on flights or in airports, plus two hour ride to and from SMF. Another person who lives close to me flew out of SMF! Food at hotel left a little to be desired. Coffee machines did not provide the best results. No laundry charge list was left in our room. It was difficult to use the safe. which was located on the floor of the closet and in a dark corner. Not all staff were cordial. No posted signs of operation for the bar or restaurant. Maid service minimal.

My favorite experience was making dinner with the group. The farm and the staff were great. We made pasta by hand and tiramisu! The farmhouse setting was perfect I have many fond memories of the entire trip.

Siena, I actually started to fully enjoy this trip on this day. And this was before we got our bags, finally, that night. Pisa and then Cinque Terre and then San Gimignano brought wonderful days of good weather and great experiences! The cooking class was so fun! I’d do that again. Loved staying in one central location, Montecatini-Terme, and venturing out from there for our daily experiences.

It was a busy busy vacation. Not much downtime to rest and explore the area we were in. Didn't care for the early morning departures. Anything 8:00 a.m. and after would have been better. I love touring and seeing it all but in my opinion the tour to Pisa, outside of seeing Pisa, was a waste of time. An hour would have been sufficient as there is nothing else there. A coastal tour would have been great as I understand we were near the sea.

I absolutely loved this tour! Siena and San Gimignano were the highlights. The cooking class was a lot of fun as were the wine and cheese tours. I would have preferred less time in Pisa, an hour (two tops) would have sufficed. Our tour manager,, Alessandro Bindi, could not have been better. He was patient, kind and so knowledgeable. He was a pleasure to vacation with!

This Tuscany trip was wonderful! Being able to stay the entire trip at one hotel in the center of town, Montecatini, was perfect. Each day excursion was planned perfectly with enough free time to explore on our own. The optional tour to Cinque Terra was a great addition.

The tour experience overall was excellent. My only complaint is that we were told to buy COVID tests to use before we could return. I got extras in case something didn't work. I was left with $75 worth of COVID tests and also paid to have one done onsite. Our guide actually told us that they had been doing the onsite tests for awhile. My suspicion is that we were sent outdated paperwork. That is something that could be avoided.

Fell in Love with Italy

The tour of Tuscany made us feel as though we were part of the villages as we learned about their history & enjoyed the cultures. We became captivated by the beautiful hills, mountains, countryside & architecture. Colette tours was well-organized & our tour manager & coach driver were so very professional and fun!

The only thing i did not like was the amount of walkiing As a Senior with the addition of COPD it was very difficult for me and quite a few of the others. The tour director was so knowledgeable and he was a joy yo be around .

I have done a fair amount of international traveling but never with a tour, and fortunately my first time out was with Collette. "Spotlight on Tuscany" was literally a trip of lifetime, and for future trips I will always make sure the trip has been planned by Collette. The Tour Manager was fantastic, as was our bus driver, hotel, and day trips. I shall never forget it - thank you!

It's difficult to cite my favorite experience but at the top are: Montecatini Alto and Cinque Terre. But then Florence, Luca, Pisa, Siena, and trips to both a working farm to make our own dinner, plus the tour of a 7th-generation vineyard and olive grove were fantastic, too!

Due to weather cancellation of the excursion trip to Cinque Terra they were able to substitute a trip to Bologne. Weather was not the best (rainy) but better than 100 degree temps and overly dry.

Weather was not something they could control. For rainy season please try to set something up for center city travel when there is persistent downpoors of rain. Selected good highlights of the city and gave ample time for individual tour time in each city.

We had a great group of fellow Collete travelers and our Collete agent in Italy was great. The weather was not always that great though which had nothing to do with Collete. I would have liked a little more free time in the various cities we traveled to each day. One of my favorite activities was locating a small Bistro or restaurant to each lunch. My sister and I never had a bad meal!

Our flights were not very well planned out - we had long layovers and the Allitalia flight from JFK to Rome was a very old plane and very uncomfortable - the flight from CDG to Cincinnatti on Delta was very nice however.

Even rainy tours can be fun.

Sibila Cincotti (Guide) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She took any requests, changes or mishaps in stride and ensured all were informed of what would be happening each day. Gianni (Driver) was professional and skilled driving a very large vehicle safely on what were at times tight and twisting roads. Both would be recommended again. Local guides were interesting and knowledgeable.

The sites were amazing. The weather didn't cooperate, but everyone else did. Siena was very interesting regarding the background on the contradas and their annual competition. It impressed me that people live in constantly uphill towns and embrace the natural lay of the land. The history of feuding between towns and eventual unification was something I didn't know about Tuscany. Beautiful scenery could be found even while driving down the highways.

A tour of Italy

This was a once in a lifetime trip, with such beautiful country to visit. Our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable....and many cudos to our phenomenal bus driver. The only way to visit a different country is on a tour, with friends!! However, would have been nice to have a rep at connecting airport because our flight got cancelled, and we had to maneuver the situation by ourselves.

The guide, Mara, was outstanding. My friend had unexpected problems walking. Mara would call a taxi to take my friend and I to the next meeting place. This was done a few times. Mara was always pleasant so my friend felt okay to still be part of the tour group. It was so important to my friend to go to each of the cities retracing the steps she and her deceased husband had traced years before.

The guides were great as was the bus driver in Italy. It would be nice to have had a little more info regarding the daily schedule prior to the trip. I was disappointed by the reaction and response when I asked for that info prior to departure. I would have liked more input on the flight schedule. The group left at different times, with ours leaving the hotel at 4:00 am.

The tour was well organized and the guides were wonderful. We craved more free time to just enjoy the town where we stayed. After the fact, we realized we like the smaller cities best and were overwhelmed by the crowds in Florence. Seeing the David was a highlight but we were more than ready to leave the city. Maybe that day trip could be optional.The best parts of the trip were the visits to the farms where we did the cooking and enjoyed the winery and dairy farm. Pisa was wonderful as well as San Gimignano and Siena. We could have spent more time seeing the scenery around San Gimignano and maybe a chance to do some photography of the beautiful countryside. These are just my suggestions.

Our tour manager, Mara Ravelli, was fantastic. She was personable, friendly and well organized. She was very knowledgeable about the locations we visited. The bus driver, Biagio, was an excellent driver. We arrived on time everywhere we went and he drove us safely and with confidence. The local guides were entertaining and informative.

Memories never forgotten!

This was an excellent experience. My days were full of adventure guided by area experts. Our Tour Manager, Mara was very patient and friendly. She made the entire trip so memorable. To have this many people that bonded and enjoyed each others company was just amazing. I felt Collette was a very well run travel group, but Katheleen our guide was a little unorganized. I had been on a similar trip with Trafagar in 2011 with my husband. Pretty much went to the same towns but different places. I can never figure out why we drive so far to go somewhere when we could stay closer to our location and enjoy time there!!! I'm sure there are vineyards close by also that we could visit.

My booking as well as many questions that I had were answered by my tour leader, Don, from the CRTA. I did, however have to contact Collette once to clarify our excursion purchase and the lady I spoke to was amazing!! She not only helped to ensure that we were signed up for both optional excursions, but was also able to give some great advise on different parts of the tour, such as making sure you have comfortable shoes for the Cinque Terre excursion. She also told me to be sure to download the Collette app for even more information about our tour. (I do wish that I would have explored the app a bit more before going on the trip because I did not use it to it's full advantage. I really appreciated the package sent out before my trip that included an itinerary booklet, as well as tips and pointers about travel in Italy. It also had a luggage tag, name tag, a pen and some other items in a nice leather zippered book-sized case.

I really enjoyed the variety of sites this tour offered as well as the convenience of having to only unpack once. Choosing a central hotel to stay at and going on day trips made this tour quite enjoyable and relaxing. Our tour guide Antonella was amazing, and our driver Pio was great. The local guides were very knowledgeable and added that personal touch to the tour. I am still awestruck at the beauty of this area, both natural and man-made and look forward to exploring more of Italy in the near future.

Too much to see in one trip.

This is my 4th tour with Collette. All of my previous experiences have been very positive. This one, not so much. The breadth of the tour is just too inclusive. It's just not possible to see all of Tuscany in 6 days. In fact, I was really hoping for more of the cultural experience - the food and the wine - than all the sightseeing. It would be better to have been a bit more selective. Granted if you go to Tuscany you have to go to Florence but I could have experienced the sights just as well in a video. Continuous walking from one attraction to another without having time to appreciate any of them for more than a few minutes is really not the experience I would have liked. Yup, I saw the outside of the Duomo; yup, I saw the Ponte Vecchio from a distance; yup, I walked past the Baptistry and yup, I walked past the David. Okay, check those things off my" bucket list" and now on to the next stop. And that was just Day One... Our tour manager certainly knew Tuscany, he's a native, and he was personable but his management skills were not up to my previous experiences with Collette. Each day's departure times were always subject to change and were announced the evening before. That makes trying to plan ahead and organize for the next day somewhat difficult. Keeping track of all the members of the group was kind of fluid as well. I had difficulty keeping up with the quick pace of the group and pointed out my slowness to the manager asking that he at least be mindful of the fact that I was bringing up the rear of line. Unfortunately, I got left behind at one stop because he lost sight of me. The bus left without me. I was able to catch a cab and return to the hotel but I think I caused some concern and certainly raised the awareness of the manager and the group as a whole going forward. The experience should at least highlight the fact that there needs to be better communication should something actually have happened. The local guides were knowledgeable, but again there is just too much to absorb all at once. We had the same bus driver for the entire tour and he was very good. On each of the other tours the manager required everyone to change seats each day. This manager did not and the same people sat with the same people in the same place each day. A little awkward for me and several others as we were travelling alone. It was very nice to be based in the same hotel for the entire trip and the hotel was actually better than some I have experienced on other Collette tours. (There was individually controlled heat and air for one.) The food was certainly adequate.

All was very good - Collette did a great job in all aspects of the tour and I would probably use them again should I choose group travel. I will of course recommend them to anyone wishing to travel in a group. Hard to pick a favorite because I loved it all - the cooking class was the most fun, Loved Lucca and Sienna (smaller towns - less people) the Cinque Terra trip was memorable because of the frenzie of the train travel....too many people for me and only saw 2 of the 5 villages. Florence would have liked to have seen other museums and the Porta Vecchio bridge - but too many people....The business class upgrade opportunity was wonderful and I would do that again.

The tour guide/manager Antonella Regi was very well versed and knowledgeable to the places where she took us, expanding on the renaissance history and the present relationships of these areas and cities. Our visit to different organic farms has extended the bonds between local farmers and tourists to taste the atmosphere and warm welcome of the small time farmers around the Tuscan region.

Mariangela, Best Tour Guide EVER!

Mariangela Carozzi was informative, clear in her instructions and absolutely fun on a tour of Tuscany. Her ability to manage a group of 41 women was phenomenal. There were many challenges and she handled them with patience and grace. Our safety was her number one concern. From the bus ride, to navigating the cities of Italy, she equipped us with all the information we needed to stay safe and keep our belongings safe also. She adjusted the itinerary due to the extremely hot temperatures. I cannot say enough about the stellar view I have on Collette Tours solely because of Mariangela. Thank you for having such a dedicated employee on your staff.

I liked the tour but I think we didn’t have enough time in Pisa I would have enjoyed staying longer. In Clinique Terres, instead of stopping at two cities (locations) it would be better to stop in only one to give us more time to walk around and enjoy lunch without rushing. The boat ride was nice but the trip to Clinique Terres was less of what I expected. I did not like the train ride to Monticello we were shoved into the train like sardines and several others from our group did not get on the train with the rest of us.

Good but not perfect.

I didn't like having to carry my own luggage to and from the limo to the airport terminals. I'm 68 y/o and found that too much. Also the limo broke down on our way home and we had an hour and half delay reaching our families at home. I also missed seeing the "people and culture" of Italy. I spent too much time with tourist and buses in parking lots. I did enjoy, very much the day at the dairy farm and the day at our cooking class. My travel companion had a lot of health issues and I felt like I was a nursemaid most of the time. She had booked the tour and I joined without realizing just how physical the walking would be. It was ok for me but trying to help her was exhausting. Not a relaxing vacation for me. The tour guides (especially Carlo in Lunna) were exceptional and the bus driver Pio, was wonderful will all of us. The hotel was good to us and went out of their way to make the experience what we needed.

Not what I expected.

The tour manager did the best he could with being forced to try and manager a group twice the size of what it should have been. The local guides were great and the bus driver was fantastic.

As for my overall experience, I was very disappointed. When I booked this tour, I believed the group size was only 24 people and that they would all be seniors. Instead you added more groups so there were over 40 people. That size is way too big! Also, in trying to find a hotel to accommodate that many people led to a substandard room. We had to stay for 8 days in a room that was horrible! The shower was LITERALLY 2 feet by 2 feet. I could not bend to get everything washed. This is not acceptable for a senior person. In addition, our room was on the street side where there were 2 restaurants that played loud music until late in the night. Horrible experience. Unfortunately, this overshadowed all the wonderful things that I experienced.

My trip to Italy was well planned, organized and executed. It was a "worry-free" trip and I was able to see far more as part of the tour than I would have on my own. I would take another tour with Collette.

I had a great trip/tour with Collette. Tony Dominoe was a fantastic tour manager. He was informative and he shared his knowledge and appreciation of the Tuscany region. I would highly recommend Colette and Tony! The only downside of the trip was air travel over to Italy. JFK experience and Alitalia Airlines were not as pleasant.

Disappointing Tour of Florence

The tour had many exceptional experiences ie The trip to the cheese farm, the culinary school where we learned to make pasta & the vineyard where we got to walk through the garden & sample the wines & olive oil made there! The thing that could have been better is filtering the guests based on activity level. We walked nearly 6 miles each day in rough terrain and had to wait in several of the older guests that had trouble keeping up.. it was unusually warm and uncomfortable.

It was difficult to add a flight to the itinerary since i was not flying out of the original city. The tour manager was condescending and unhelpful especially toward the end of the tour.

Again, not impressed with the tour manager. Missed several items on the tour that had been advertised as doing. The leather shop was closed since we went on Saturday. We didn't get to have the tour by boat to Cinque Terme since the weather was bad in the morning - should have delayed it by a few hours and didn't get to have the stop for appetizers and drinks as advertised. The tour manager was not flexible to adjust with weather when we could have had free time in the morning instead of the evening. He rushed us all the time on tour threatening not to give us a bathroom break. There were many things on the tour he should've told us that we had to find out on our on after the fact such as we could have used our train ticket to use the bathroom for free and we could have used the ticket for the cathedral to climb the tower for free. We were rushed through our end of tour dinner. He was in a hurry to get to his vacation with "friends". He didn't help anyone off the bus or get bags. He had us load our bags on the bus to depart. The hotel was ok. The water in the shower was either scalding or freezing. The food was ok for breakfast - same stuff everyday. The welcome dinner was poor. The tour day for Cinque Terme should have been included in the tour not an add on since there was nothing else scheduled for the day - just had to pay more!

This is my fourth Collette tour and all have been well organized, had a wide variety of experiences and featured a well-versed tour leader as well as local guides. I have been very happy with the tours and will (and have) recommended Collette to friends and family. My one complaint is that the tours have more members than I would prefer. A limit of 20-25 would be better for logistical purposes.

Every stop on the Tuscany tour had something to recommend it. It is difficult to select a single memorable experience. But I think that serendipitously running into a parade of folks from each contrada, dressed in their medieval garb, waving their flags and beating their drums in the city of Siena was thrilling.

Breathtaking !!

A most excellent adventure from first pick up to last ride home. Every minute was wonderful. Every plane, bus and limo connection and their staff was perfect. Our tour guide, Guilio, was a true scholar. From beginning to end his only thought was for our comfort and safety. He imparted so much rich culture and history of Toscana. Guilio was so much fun to be with. He was very organized and the trip ran like clock work. We stayed at one hotel and traveled by coach daily. The coach, driven by Danielle, was luxurious, spotless, on time and the driver was experienced. The waiter, Luigi, at the Grand Hotel Tettuccio, (Montecatini Terme) showed get professional expertise and charm. The local guides knew everything there was to know about every location we were in. To actually be in the birth place of history, to walk ancient, medieval streets where ancient people walked was awe inspiring. The ancient cities were sites to behold. The Art and statuary, the leather work and ceramics...not to mention the jewelry created by true artisans. The color and design of fabrics. The fresh local food in the stores and served in many restaurants to suit your taste.Visits to local vineyards, olive orchards and cheese farms were opportunities to meet the people of the country and share some of the freshest and most delicious food we’d ever had. The shops were filled with the most beautiful, interesting and extremely well made merchandise. We even toured a Word War II Nazi Bunker and heard harrowing stories of local residents who had family members fighting in the war. The Italian people are open, and warm and friendly. The country is clean and easy to navigate. The roads are smooth and well signed and lit. The sweeping vistas of the country side, from landscaped, sculpted hills, to craggy snow capped distant marble mountains are true eye candy!! All the people of every age are well and stylishly dressed. They are polite and friendly! They care for and take pride in their love of dogs. I am thrilled that I was able to make this trip, and I thank Collette for putting together my trip of a life time.

Well-planned itinerary with excellent guide

The trip was better than I expected and Collette's travel arrangements were largely responsible. It was NOT perfect- but errors happen and our guide did a great job rolling with the flow. Any trip becomes what the traveler chooses and reacts to- my terrific roommate helped a lot! Areas to improve: time between airline transfers was too short- we lost 2 people in Amsterdam because the huge airport w/ no transport systems confused them. Imagine how they felt, lost in a foreign place! Colette made it right but cannot ever make those two forget the awful experience. We also paid in advance for some entry fees that weren't used- our guide hurried a restaurant into providing a dinner to compensate us. Unfortunately the restaurant gave us the bum's rush, throwing food at us and clearing too soon in order to let their local customers dine w/out "the tourists." They certainly didn't earn their money or tips- but it was prepaid, on the last night, and left a bad impression on all of us. I personally found Colette's tipping guidelines too high for the service we received. 20% on top of travel expenses was ridiculous and several members on the tour pooled their tips to even out that percentage to about 12%, where it should be. I will certainly look at future trips with Collette, especially those with single hotel stays- it was marvelous not to worry about packing.

I was very upset on how long the layover while going to Italy in Atlanta was unacceptable. Some in our group was on a flight which left a lot earlier. We booked this trip over a year in advance. To me that is unacceptable. Then in Paris another long layover. Seems like you treated us like 3rd class citizens. We ALL should have been on the layover that was less than 2 hours in Atlanta. The brochure for the option Rome at night was not what was described. Luckily, Ciblia mentioned it was a meal and entertainment, no lights by night We were able to cancel; however, it was not what was advertised.

Actual tour experience was exceptional

The tour was fabulous. The tour guide could not have been better and the guides especially in Rome were exceptional. I would repeat the trip tomorrow . Problem was with the planes. Delta and Air France did their jobs but the scheduling was the issue. First, the agents could not figure how to fly me to ATL from PTI and suggested I fly to St. Louis and join the group. This did not make any sense to me. It was resolved but gave me on 55 minutes between plans and I almost missed the plane to Paris. The other guest had assigned seats. I discovered this when the friend I travel with asked me what I was sitting. I never received assignments from Collette and my friend and I were seated in totally different area. I had to choose my seats from what was available after all others were assigned seats. I would have appreciated Collette discussing the extended layover I was going to have in Detroit on the return. I loved the transportation to and from mt home to the airport. It was excellent.

Really would be 4.5. There was some confusion, more than once, on details in itinerary package we received vs. actuality. one example was that we signed up for "Rome at Night" that said there would be a panoramic night tour of Rome. That morning we were told that that would not be included in the evening out, which was the main reason we signed up. We were told we could opt out and get reimbursed. Hopefully we will get reimbursed! Also, 5 1/2 hour layover in Paris was brutal, after a 3 1/2 hr layover in ATL. We had more layover time than flight time! Highlights were Cinqueterra tour, Roman Coloseum, Vatican, Pisa.

Super people who make sure you have a trip of a lifetime!

My experience with Collette was fantastic! Our hotel was lovely. Antanella, our tour guide and Piero, our driver, went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable in our luxurious touring coach. Each day was a new adventure to a beautiful city, a medieval village, a delicious meal in the country side, or a walk along the Ligurian Sea. A trip of a lifetime! Thank you Collette. Each day was a new adventure. I couldn't believe I was really standing in front of THE David and wandering around Florence! The next day was a visit to the medieval village of Lucca and a tour of Puccini's apartment,then on to a WW II historical site. One day we took a short train ride to the Cinque Terre and walked around two villages. And on the ride to the train saw stacks of Carrara marble waiting for shipment and the mountains where Carrara marble comes from. We toured Pisa and took pictures of each other trying to push it upright! Also, we had several delicious meals in the country and even made our own pasta! What a fun way to get to know our fellow travelers. Very enjoyable.

Would love to do again with same guides driver but diff hotel

Hotel was just ok, the staff at the front desk were horrible, never looked up & seemed that you were a bother with exception of the gentleman that was there late night, the 2 girls were useless. Also my only other complaint was before the trip, I called collect about info on upgrade of tickets from sea to ams & back, was told get back to me but they did not. Also due to fog in Amsterdam going and coming our flights were delayed, returning had to spend the night in Amsterdam which screwed up other pick up in sac. I would recommend going thru Paris on those trips due to fog conditions in Amsterdam

Our tour guide Giolio was the best. He has the patience of a saint. This tour was mismatched in regards to activity levels yet he managed to keep everyone happy, even those who complained for no reason.

I loved the variety of places. it enabled us to see where we will be returning. I do not like the shortness of being in each place and missing out on many lovely things. The hotel dinner food was awful as well as the last night's meal location. The farm to table and cheese farm were amazing, so these others did not quite fit. As we were a foodie group traveling with our local chef, we expected the food to be stellar. We loved Lucca. Hated Pisa, too crowded and touristy. Florence needs at least 2 days and dinner there. Food is much more well known there. Winery did not live up to hype. it was not very good. We had much better at the local bars we went to. Cinque was lovely. The restaurant the guides suggested here was probably one of our favorites.

Great Company to Travel With

Collette was awesome. The trip was reasonably priced, very organized and I love the website where I can get all kinds of information regarding the trip. The only issue was with coming home after a 12 hour flight where we got no sleep, they cancelled our flight from San Francisco to Sacramento and we had to wait around the airport for another 7 hours before we got picked up and taken home.

This is the third Collette tour for me. All of the people involved in putting this tour and making it happen are exceptional. Alexa, our tour guide was just like family by the time it came to say goodbye. She went all out to make this enjoyable and interesting.. The perfect vacation

I did not have to put any thought into this trip and it covered far more than I could have ever planned on my own. A fantastic lineup of tour guides and events. Incredible first experience in Italy! Outstanding tour!

Collette exceeded every expectation! Can't wait until my next tour!

From beginning to end, every detail was attended to. Exceeded my expectations. Felt cared for and safe within the group (as a single traveler) but had freedom to explore. Great tour guides/local experts, the additional cooking class was fantastic, and the cheese farm lunch was one of my favorites. Restaurants were chosen well, day trips were selected with thought of how every moment would be valuable. So much to say about how I enjoyed this trip!!! Can't wait until my next Collette trip!

The cooking class was one of the many highlights for me, The entire class was engaged and had lots of laughter with collaborative efforts. The estate where this was provided was beautiful, and the staff warmly welcomed us. We also got to see the sunset over the countryside, which heightened the experience as we explored the grounds. Pasta and Tiramisu were fun to create and enjoy!

Loved all the places we saw. The tour guide was fantastic. Was very up beat and even added extra things for us to do for those that wanted to. Our bus driver was excellent as well and very courteous. However, we are still waiting to hear from our tour guide with email addresses and information he was going to send to all of us.

We had a terrific travel guide. He explained everything perfectly! He had an excellent knowledge of the places we visited, not to mention, his great sense of humor. Service in the hotel was very, especially at breakfast .

The city of Montecatini was well chosen as well as the hotel in a central location. All the meals provded were excellent. The tour director Guglio, was professional, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. One of my personal highlights was the Agriturismo farm where we made our own meal and interacted with the family. It was a totally enjoyable trip.

Giluio Passariello was excellent. He was knowledgeable, fun and always on the spot. His friendliness set the pattern for the busload. Even at break time, he would visit with the tourists. The suggestions for (food, purchases, restrooms) in all the areas were most helpful; all of the information covering the miles was very interesting.

4+ rating. They do an excellent job of arranging the flights to and from. The limo service from home to airport to hotel, etc. is so important to us. Their guides, both tour director and local guides are the best. We just finished a trip with Alexia and she was funny, knowledgeable, personable, and above all -- professional. The sights visited were fantastic. I rate all travel sights at 4's as I feel that certain portions are always overpriced. We have traveled to Europe 8 times with Collette and love their service, their insurance options, and side tour options. We look forward to more trips when the price is right. I'd love to go to Israel, but seldom see bargains on the airfare. It is often the airfare that stops us from more tours.

The Florence American Military Cemetery, the cute town of Montecatini Alto, visiting Lucca and the Gothic Line with the German bunkers and the museum, and finally San Gimignano. There we had the gelato that won the world's best contest two years and then off to a cheese farm for a light lunch and the purchase of cheese to bring home.

The tour was so much more than we ever expected. The highlight of the tour was tour manager Alexa D. She was organized, always available and her bright personality made the entire trip totally fun. Our bus driver, the local tour guides and everywhere we went allowed us to experience a new adventure each day. We were so satisfied with this trip taht we have already booked the Italian Vistas tour for next spring.

For a short tour, this tour was packed! We had plant of time with knowledgable guides and also plenty of time to explore on our own. I love the cities selected and the amazing sights. Especially enjoyed the unexpected parade in Florence. The hotel was friendly comfortable and provided excellent breakfasts. The Cinque Terre add on was perfect.

Tour included an individual that was not physically capable which caused problems. In addition, that individual was totally inconsiderate in causing the entire3 group to be delayed because he took off on his own and we had to find him.

Fantastic. From the first class hotel to all the sites we visited and, especially, Sergi, our tour guide. What a jewel of a man. He is witty, funny, concerned, and extremely helpful.

We visited small farms and busy cities. We visited iconic sites like Leaning Tower of Pisa and towns I still cannot pronounce their names. Drank a lot of wines that were simply delicious and tasted foods that were unique. Gelato became a favorite dessert.

Not sure I would travel with Collette again because of Kevin & return issue

The trip was fabulous. Alexandre Dorobanto was fantastic including personable, knowledge of tour areas visited as well as her professionalism. I could not have expected a better tour guide. Our bus driver was also fantastic. That being said, the Collette tour information received before the tour, Kevin, gave us some incorrect info. For example, he told us we should exchange US currency to Euros once we got to Europe. We should have made the exchange locally at either AAA or our local bank which would not have charged us for the service. I was charged $28.00 in Europe. He also should have been knowledgeable about the hotel amenities, he was not. In addition, he should have told us about the spa across the street from our hotel as some of us might have scheduled a spa treatment. Also, Collette should have been aware there was an Italian national holiday on Nov 1 which many Italians used as a holiday long weekend. We traveled to Florence on Saturday, Nov 3, and it was EXTREMELY crowded. It would have been nice to visit Florence on a less crowded day. Finally, Collette should have informed everyone we would not be in the U.S. on Election Day in order to get absentee ballots. I did this once I realized it, but Collette should have advised. I did have an issue with one of our return flights being cancelled on the way home which I have resolved.

Norman, our marvelous group guide/"tour manager," needed to help one couple with acquiring their awaited but missing vote-by-mail U.S. ballot for the Nov '18 election, and to help locate and shepherd an elderly lone man who had mobility and memory challenges, as well as to help another man alone after his wallet and U.S. passport were stolen--all during the same one-week trip!

Almost perfect trip.

I’d like to say 4.5 stars. The only negative was really due to the weather. We weren’t able to go to Cinqe d’ terre and had a trip to Bologna substituted. Not as spectacular but Collette was concerned for our safety so it was understandable. My tour manager Alexia was superb and made the whole trip just wonderful!

EVerything about this tour was amazing. The tour guide, Mattia, was capable, entertaining, and personable. The people on the tour were fun and easy to talk to, and the Tuscany sites were so beautiful and interesting. I would not hesitate to do this again.

I know they provided great rates and service for a few people in my group who wanted to add trips before and after our scheduled trip. During our stay there was a cancellation of a great day trip that everyone was looking forward to. The crew in the US put together a great alternative trip in a short amount of time that filled in the gap.

The tour manager and driver made the trip so much more fun! We felt that we were in good hands all the way. They met as at the airport and provided insight and information and confidence to travel in this foreign place to us. The small towns with personal guided tours by locals gave us the insiders view.

Just a so-so tour.

I did think the staff were helpful in answering questions and providing assistance. The tours did not include seeing “inside” buildings and museums. It felt as if we spent more time on the bus than actually touring.

The tour did not have enough substance. We spent more time on the bus and then just walking past buildings. The tour agent who handled the booking was very inefficient and rude.

I’m not sure who planned the trip but they did a very poor job. Scheduled us to visit Florence on Monday. We had to tell the travel agent the museums were closed on Monday. We went to **** on Tuesday which was cruise ship day. Another bad decision. We had a 7 hour layover in Paris after our all night flight, then an hour and a half flight to Florence and the 30 minute bus ride to hotel. The other group had a 3 hour layover. 65 people were on the trip. Our bus didn’t have leather seats or Wi-Fi like the other bus. The cheese farm had a lovely lunch but didn’t see one one sheep, only a pig and a donkey. Didn’t see where they stored cheese or even a demonstration on cheese making. There were many differences between the two groups. The people on our bus were treated like second class citizens and we all paid the same price

I fell in love with Tuscany

My Tuscany tour was amazing. Guide Antonio was the best I have ever met. He kept us on our tight schedule (not an easy thing to accomplish). He was very knowledgeable. Antonio was polite, professional and extremely kind. Tio was a great driver. I felt very safe with him. Very conconsiderate in helping the elderly. Sights were amazing ~ I loved everything. The hotel was ok. It was in an excellent location.

The tour was well planned. Our gude was beyond knowledgeable and shared so much with us. Our motor coach driver was very skilled and personable. Accommodations were pleasant and included meals were superb. Reasonably priced, this tour was excellent.
